C 4 Creativity

Souvenir for Schleiper, shop with art supplies founded in 1892 and run by Schlepiers family till today. 
I was inspired by the long lasting family business and an add on their webpage stating “i love creativity”. 
This led into playful usage of various materials creating a chain. Chain as a symbol for continuity, compliment for the family who managed to keep on their business for such a long time.
Single components of the chain are shaped as letter C, which brings hidden message about myself as a creator. Plastic C chains were popular toy in my childhood in Czechia. I used as much materials as I could, mixing low and high, expensive and cheap. 
I made two pieces: one for me and the second for Bert, who sent me Schlepier shop as his favourite place in Gent.
