In this cross-cultural project between the Ceramics & Glass Departments of Bezalel Academy of Arts & Design in Jerusalem (Israel) and Luca School of Art in Ghent (Belgium), the meanings of Souvenir and the embodiment of memory through objects are explored. 
 
Each participating student has chosen a place in his/her own city – Jerusalem / Ghent - and made a small material laboratory conveying a narrative about that place for the overseas student to interpret and to make work inspired by or using the actual materials. The results, including one-off objects and serial works, resonate the unvisited place, experienced and sensed through communication with a fellow student in another country and with a different culture.  
Correspondence between the student pairs in each institution were carried out through emails, Zoom conversations and social media, in addition to the packages sent via post.
